
Financial Trust & Confidence Index (FTCI) is a unique quarterly study and evaluation of trust and confidence in the financial services industry. Currently deployed in Africa, it seeks to measure consumers trust in the financial sector, particularly on how regulators and operators manage their money. It does monitor how regulators and operators exemplify trust and instill confidence in their respective domains.
FTCI– Nigeria to debut in June, 2010. The first in series of Africa-wide index offering, this index is developed to report and track how the public (consumers and non-consumers alike) trust their financial services providers. It will provide up-to-the-minute analysis based on indepth research, and insights into the Financial Services sector in Nigeria. Consumers will offer state-of-mind perception on how they see regulators as unbiased, good and fair regulators protecting their money as well as the operators who are directly taking charge of their money.
The initial study commenced in November 2010 focussing on Nigeria’s financial industry reform of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the slow recovery of the Nigerian Stock markets and the overall perception of Nigeria’s financial system in the global arena. This study which is the first of its kind in Nigeria offers valuable tools for consumers to evaluate the finaiclal system and contribute to its development. It also provides useful information to international investors and observers,
Financial Trust and Confidence Index was established by AME&T Group S.A as part of the company’s Trust Policy Rendering Initiative in 2009. and later became the firm’s corporate responsibility initiative in 2010. The index will focus on regional financial developments as it relates consumers, regulators and operators. It stands to also eveluate its impact on how investors respond to the industry.
